本研究は、セクシュアリティの問題を中心に、ナチズムの政治の実態を歴史社会学的に考察しようとしたものである。「民族の健全化」を標榜したナチズムは、人種衛生的見地から性の領域への介入を強化し、結婚・出産奨励策を通じた生殖の拡大を企てるなど、セクシュアリティの問題に並々ならぬ関心を示した。だがそこでは、性の問題が単に抑圧され、生殖のために利用されただけでなく、ある種の「性の解放」の約束を通じて、性的欲望が積極的に刺激され、これを満たす権力の拡大が促されていた。こうした考察によって、ナチズムの性政治を通じた欲望の動員のメカニズムを明らかにしたことが、本研究の成果である。
