European Studies: the main focus is on reading, writing and critical thinking.
教育の理念(なぜやっているか:教育目標):
Educational goals: students will demonstrate the ability to (1) identify key points in readings, short lectures, films, or other presentations, (2) write clear notes and summaries while reading, listening and watching, (3) show a broad grasp of European themes and developments up to the present day, (4) conduct country-specific research and present findings to the class, and (5) develop a digital portfolio to expand on what is studied in class.

Content-based course informed by CLIL with a focus on teaching the persuasive genre (argument) and emphasising digital literacy
教育方法の評価・学習の成果(どうだったか:結果と評価):
Evaluated by mastery of two specialist countries per student, one EU (e.g. Spain) and one non-EU European country (e.g. Norway). Students produce an ePortfolio, submit homework and take quizzes, present a paper poster or digital poster accompanied by a video of their talk, and submit an 800-word persuasive text based on their poster presentation content and script.
改善点・今後の目標(これからどうするか):
To boost critical literacy skills and digital literacy skills, with regard to bookmarking online sources, evaluating materials, providing citations, and avoiding plagiarism.
