This study clarifies the "attitude of observation by coaches" in online gymnastics training during the COVID-19 pandemic from the perspective of phenomenological movement theory. The subject of analysis is a case study based on the author's own practical experience. The results of the analysis revealed that, in online training, situations frequently occurred in which "coaches were unable to observe as they wished" due to limitations such as camera angles and zoom capabilities. Despite such constraints, the study found that in order to conduct effective training, it is essential for coaches to cultivate "movement imagination" based on an empathetic attitude toward the movements of the trainees.
